This course will update attendees on the many new tree cultivars introduced in recent years. This course covers the process of what goes into introducing a new tree to the market, such as superior genetics, roots and branching structure. Trademarks and plant patents will be explained. Participants will learn the ornamental attributes of each cultivar, as well as cultural requirements and examples of where these trees can make the biggest impact in the landscape. This is a short version of course # 0007001 and does not include a field segment. All information will be conveyed indoors with the use of photography, diagrams and charts organized in a PowerPoint presentation.
